The Tamil Nadu government has approached the court to release 10,000 cusecs of water every day for 15 days, said Deputy Chief Minister DK. Shivakumar shared the helplessness of the government regarding the distribution of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.
The Tamil Nadu government has moved the court to release 10,000 cusecs of water every day for 15 days. But this time the state has not received as much rain as usual. Due to this, the reservoir is not adequately filled with water. Some water has already been diverted to Tamil Nadu. Due to lack of rain, we also lack water. The interests of the farmers of the two states should be looked after. But there is a problem due to lack of connected water. There is no point in playing politics in this matter. The Tamil Nadu government has put up the demand for water as usual. However, our farmers in the state also need water, DCM DKSivakumar announced in his X account.
Speaking to ANI on the issue of Cauvery water sharing with Tamil Nadu, DCM DK.Shivakumar said, "We have got an instruction that we have to release 10,000 cusecs for 15 days. You all know that there is a lot of shortage of water... Due to the non-availability of water, we are facing severe drought ...We are appealing to the authority to reconsider the decision..."
